On May 11, 2023, a FinU delegation, with Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work Ekaterina Kameneva and Associate Professor of the Department of Insurance and Social Economics, Faculty of Finance Marina Selivanova, visited the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The history of the Banking and Finance Academy begins on May 2, 1996, when the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Establishment of the Banking and Finance Academy” was adopted. Over the past quarter of a century, more than 5,800 undergraduates and 12,000 students of the Faculty of Advanced Training have become the Academy alumni. Due to the full state support, the Academy has turned into a modern higher educational and research institution in a relatively short period of time.

Currently, the Academy presents a full range of academic and practice-oriented master’s degree programs in finance, taxation, banking and project finance, as well as training programs for scientific personnel to obtain the degree of Doctor of Economics (PhD and DSc).

During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the cooperation agreements and identified a range of priority areas for joint work. In particular, it is planned to develop and implement a joint master’s degree program and continuing education programs, organize international academic mobility programs for students and research and teaching staff, as well as create joint laboratories.

According to the Rector of the Academy, Elmurod Khoshimov, the visit of FinU representatives marked the beginning of a long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.
