Access to Online Resources of FEDURUS Learning Environment Open

The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation has become a member of the Federation of unified access to academic and research resources for Russia of the learning environment FEDURUS, and now all FinU representatives can use their corporate account to access many electronic collections.

Federation of unified access to academic and research resources of FEDURUS is a project created by the Non-profit Partnership "Associated Regional Library Consortia" (ARBICON). The main goal of FEDURUS is to facilitate access to distributed electronic resources for federation members.

With FEDURUS Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure, FinU users can safely and confidentially receive services using only an account in their organization using end-to-end authentication technology (SSO or Single Sign-On), which allows the user to switch from one system to another without re-authentication: it will be enough for the user to enter a login/password only once for one of the systems and it will get access to all the others.

Thus, to access many electronic collections by subscription of the Library and Information Complex of the FinU, the user does not need to save any additional or special logins and passwords: he can use the connection through the Federation and receive services (access) based on his affiliation to the FinU.

Today, when remote access via EZproxy to databases by subscription of the FinU is discontinued, users of the Library and Information Complex will be able to access resources within the next generation technology using end-to-end authentication technology.

Currently, there are 25 participants and 25 candidates in the FEDURUS project. Preparatory work is currently underway to include several more large organizations, both suppliers and consumers of digital content, in the authentication project.

FinU readers get reliable access to remote resources and services from home and from mobile platforms within the seamless information environment of the university.
