On April 27, 2023, a Jilin University delegation visited the FinU, as part of which agreements on cooperation and the implementation of an academic exchange program between universities were signed.

The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of the FinU, Doctor of Economics, Professor Ekaterina Kameneva. In her introductory speech, she talked about the history and main activities of the FinU.

Ekaterina Kameneva stressed that the visit of the Jilin University delegation is significant under Russian-Chinese cooperation in science and education and added that FinU pays great attention to interaction and the formation of ties with universities in China.

In turn, the Permanent Vice-Rector of Jilin University, Weitao Zheng, noted the importance of forming partnerships in the educational sphere and expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support to new joint projects, noting that cooperation with Russia is a priority area of China's international cooperation.

During the visit, the parties discussed the possibilities of implementing joint educational programs, academic exchange programs, scientific and technical projects, organizing and holding scientific and practical conferences, and preparing joint publications of Chinese and Russian scientists.

On behalf of the FinU, representatives of the International Cooperation Department and the Faculty of International Economic Relations took part in the meeting.

During the second part of the visit, negotiations were held between the leadership of the Institute of Northeast Asia of Jilin University and the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the FinU, as part of which the organizational bases of the implementation of the joint educational double-degree program on the basis of the program “Global Economics and International Trade” (with in-depth study of the Chinese economy and Chinese language) of the Faculty of International Economic Relations and the program “National and Regional Economics” with the profile “Russian language and Economy of Russia” of the Institute of Northeast Asia and joint summer schools in Russian and Chinese.

After the negotiations, representatives of Jilin University visited the Chinese office of the Faculty of International Relations, participated in a Chinese language class and visited the FinU Museum.

The parties expressed confidence that the signing of the agreement and the launch of joint projects will contribute to the further development of multifaceted cooperation between universities.
