In the period from April 24 to 28, 2023, at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis, together with the Federal Tax Service of Russia, organized and held an International Scientific and Practical conference “International Tax Week” (Forum of the Federal Tax Service of Russia), where the current problem is the modern trend mainstream in the development of effective tax politics during the economic digitalization.
The main thesis of the International Tax Week is the mainstream of the current trend in effective tax policy development under economic digitalization.
The purpose of the International Tax is to study the global goals and objectives of tax policy under economic digitalization, to analyze the new paradigm of the digital tax ecosystem to increase the Russian tax jurisdiction global competitiveness, the role of tax administration digital technologies in increasing the global competitiveness of the Russian tax jurisdiction, to study the prospects for legislative decisions to increase tax competition in Russia.
The moderator of the Plenary session of International Tax Week -2023 was the Dean of the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis, Doctor of Economics and Professor - Vadim Zasko.
The International Tax Week at the FinU was opened by Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artem Kiryanov. During his report, Artyom Kiryanov focused on topical issues of tax policy development, issues of tax policy socialization, prospects for legislative decisions to increase the country’s tax competition, tax revenues of regional and local budgets were touched upon.
Dean of the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis, Vadim Zasko thanked all the speakers for participating in this event and focused on the FinU importance as a huge platform for exchanging opinions and a place for discussions, where professional speakers can express their expert positions.
On April 25, 2023, Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, also spoke at the Plenary session and in his speech raised the issue of forming an integration space based on Russian digital technologies in tax administration, as well as:
· Role of digital technologies in increasing the global competitiveness of the Russian tax jurisdiction;
· Whether there is an issue on the agenda regarding further harmonization of tax legislation with the EAEU countries, for example, harmonization of VAT rules in the implementation of works/providing services in electronic form;
· Elimination of tax barriers in indirect taxation of the EAEU countries: is work underway to eliminate differences in tax rates for certain goods/works/services?
· If the state has reserves to develop tax incentives for domestic producers.
