On April 21, 2023, the winners of the Bank of Russia Junior PayTech Forum 2023 student conference on “Financial Technologies and New Payment Services” were determined in Moscow. The forum participants presented to the expert jury projects on the development and implementation of new financial services aimed at solving urgent social and business problems.

The final of the project was opened by the Chair of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina. Addressing the participants, she noted the variety and quality of fintech service concepts, highlighting their practical potential.

7 projects have reached the final stage, in total, during the six-month educational program, participants offered more than 250 ideas aimed at the development of financial technologies’ development and payment systems. FinU was represented at the competition by students Lev Vasiliev and Yana Morugina.

As part of the Junior PayTech Forum final session program, FinU and the Bank of Russia signed an agreement on cooperation in the financial technologies’ development and their practical application on the basis of the Bank of Russia Fintech Hub educational project.

The document was signed by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, and Olga Skorobogatova, First Deputy Chair of the Bank of Russia.

Cooperation between the FinU and the Bank of Russia will be aimed at the development of joint educational projects as well as of students’ professional competencies. Interaction between the parties also provides for the organization of career guidance and educational events.

Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, noted the importance of cooperation with the Bank of Russia. 

“It is a great honor for the FinU to sign this agreement. I am grateful to the administration of the Bank of Russia for implementing a brilliant educational project and holding forums that allow students to be at the forefront of financial market knowledge and skills. I am sure that cooperation and the implementation of a joint project will be an excellent motivator for the guys in the profession,” Stanislav Prokofiev said.

First Deputy Chair of the Bank of Russia Olga Skorobogatova stressed the importance of developing educational programs in digitalization and added that joint work will be aimed at developing new programs and materials in financial technologies and cybersecurity.

The parties expressed confidence that cooperation and joint development of educational initiatives will be productive and will make a significant contribution to the digital development of public and financial services, as well as help train new qualified personnel, highly qualified specialists in financial technologies and cybersecurity for the Russian financial market and domestic technology companies.

The delegation from the FinU also included Olga Polyakova, First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance, and Alexander Lozhechko, Deputy Dean for the Development of Educational Programs and International Cooperation of the Faculty.

​Fintech Hub is a division of the Financial Technologies Department of the Bank of Russia, which organizes academic and educational programs for college and university students in financial technologies and cybersecurity. The implementation of educational programs takes place in partnership with financial organizations and companies of the Russian technology market.​

​Junior PayTech Forum is an annual conference for students from all regions of Russia, which has been held by the Bank of Russia since 2021. At it, participants present their projects on the development and implementation of new financial services aimed at solving urgent problems of society and business.
