Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, spoke at the business session “Educational Platforms and Digital Ecosystems: International Cooperation” as part of the V International Scientific Forum “Step into the Future” at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.  The work of the discussion platform is timed to the 116th anniversary of the University of Economics. The event brought together representatives of government, science, education and business.

The key discussion topics were the development and implementation of digital technologies in public administration, business and education, training for the digital economy, promotion of the brand of Russian education on the international market.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, sent a video message to the participants of the business session. In his speech, he noted the importance of developing technological independence and digital security of the country. Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized the role of science as a powerful training environment for in-demand and qualified IT specialists for the large-scale implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in all areas of business.

The experts and guests were welcomed by the Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Ivan Lobanov, noting the importance of interaction between business and education for the introduction of best practices in the process of training young professionals, as well as the development of new cooperation areas.

During his speech, Stanislav Prokofiev focused the guests’ attention on the tasks of internationalization of Russian education in the face of new challenges. Among the key areas, the FinU Rector highlighted the export of Russian education abroad to strengthen the country’s authority in the international arena, 

“The export of education, in our opinion, should go in parallel with the export of domestic technologies. This requires serious cooperation with Russian IT companies and modern content that should be in demand by foreign students,” Stanislav Prokofiev said.

He noted that the FinU is actively working in this direction – modern laboratories are being opened, new courses have been developed, including a course in digital mathematics in the R programming language, which is in demand both in the domestic and foreign markets for solving specific functional tasks.

In conclusion, Stanislav Prokofiev stressed the importance of developing a single platform for promoting the Russian education brand.

The speakers of the business session also included: Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinstein, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on the Budget and Financial Markets Sergey Ryabukhin, Director of the Department of Information Technology of the Government of the Russian Federation Evgeny Komar, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Daria Kiryanova, General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Russian Energy Agency” Ministry of Energy of Russia Alexey Kulapin and other representatives of government and business structures.

The experts discussed the possibilities and directions of artificial intelligence development, the promotion of Russian technology platforms, the export potential of Russian scientific and educational clusters, and measures to support Russian education to increase its competitive position in fast-growing markets.
