On January 31, 2023, FinU and the St. Petersburg Forestry Research Institute signed a cooperation agreement. The corresponding document was signed by the Vice-Rector for Strategy and Work with Authorities of the FinU Dmitry Semenov and the Director of the St. Petersburg Forestry Research Institute Pavel Rychenkov.

 

The Vice-Rector of the FinU Dmitry Semenov addressed the University guests with a welcoming speech. Among the urgent joint tasks, he highlighted the cooperation of the FinU Department of Mathematics and Research Institute experts aimed at teaching neural networks to predict reproduction and forestry conservation. In his speech, he also stressed the importance of the experience exchange for highly qualified personnel training .

 

In turn, Pavel Rychenkov, Director of the St. Petersburg Forestry Research Institute, noted the importance of working together on a system that will contribute to the forestry development.

 

As part of the signed agreement, cooperation between the University and the Research Institute will cover a wide range of areas, including the development of specialized educational and research programs, support for students’ project activities, and practice-oriented internship organization.

 

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that cooperation will contribute to the industry development, the relevant infrastructure modernization  and will serve as a driver for the launch of new projects.
