On January 24, 2023, a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran with Jafar Hashe, Director of the Caucasian Studies Institute, Mehdi Hedayati, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science, Director of the Department of International Scientific Cooperation at the University of Guilan, and Mohammad Nahaiah, Assistant Head of the Press Service and Public Diplomacy Department of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, visited the FinU.
As part of the Iranian delegation visit, negotiations on cooperation were held, which were attended by Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work E.A. Kameneva, Head of the International Cooperation Department L.V. Prikhodko and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications A.B. Shatilov. To date, the Caucasian Studies Institute and the FinU have already developed a warm partnership. In particular, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications A.B. Shatilov, at the invitation of the Caucasian Studies Institute, visited Iran in September 2021, where he took part in an expert meeting as part of the International Conference “Iranian-Russian Relations in the Face of New Regional Challenges”.
As part of the further development of partnership relations between the Caucasian Studies Institute and the FinU, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of organizing the Russian language study online for the Iranian side and the Persian language in an online format for the Russian party, as well as to strengthen expert communication and develop joint scientific research.
Also during the official meeting, a representative of the University of Guilan, the largest university in the North of Iran, suggested that the FinU consider the possibility of developing a joint educational program.
In addition to the meeting with the university administration, the Iranian delegation visited the Museum of the FinU and took part in an expert session on current geopolitical processes in the South Caucasus.
FinU thanks its Iranian colleagues for the visit and welcomes cooperation with the Caucasian Studies Institute and University of Guilan.
