On December 26, 2022, a round table “Federal Project “Artificial Intelligence – Issues of Regulation and Staffing” was held in the Federation Council, within which advanced training certificates under the program “Data Analyst” were awarded to the best alumni of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

 

Senators of the Federation Council, representatives of organizations operating in the field of artificial intelligence and personnel training for this industry, discussed the results achieved in the measure implementation to ensure that citizens receive continuing professional education in the field of artificial intelligence and related fields using the mechanism of personal digital certificates as part of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”, as well as prospects for the project development.

 

Vyacheslav Timchenko, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on the Rules of Procedure and Parliamentary Governance, addressed the participants of the round table with a welcoming speech. He presented the key regulations governing the artificial intelligence development and outlined priorities in this process, highlighting the issue of staffing in this area.

 

Vice-Rector for Digitalization of the FinU Grigory Ostapenko during his speech noted, “In 2022, as part of the federal Artificial Intelligence project, a number of measures are being implemented to ensure that citizens receive continuing professional education in the field of artificial intelligence and related fields using the mechanism of personal digital certificates. The subsidy provides for the financial support provision to citizens when they take courses on additional professional programs selected by experts with a volume of 250 academic hours in the specialties: Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Technical Analyst Data Science, Data Architect, AI Architect. The support consists in co-financing most of the cost of the training course.”  

 

The event moderator Nadezhda Surova, head of the Competence Center “Digital Economy” identified the following topical issues for discussion at the round table – positive training practices as part of the Federal Project “Artificial Intelligence” and prospects for the AI development in the Russian Federation.

 

The academic programs and data on the number of trained citizens were presented by providers – educational organizations that implement training courses for various categories of citizens as part of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” – Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, LLC “1T”, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics), ITMO University. Educational platforms emphasized the importance of training citizens in conjunction with employers and their current requests for personnel in artificial intelligence.

 

Following the round table results, the proposals of the participants on the improvement of the continuing professional education system in artificial intelligence were included in the resolution, which will become the basis for making managerial decisions to improve the training process of citizens as part of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”.
