On December 9, 2022, Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, attended an IT Day at the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis. As part of the event, there were meetings of students with expert practitioners, who spoke about current projects in the field of information security and digital technologies, and told the students about the state of the labor market and trends in its development.

 

During the visit, the FinU Rector was shown a unique development of students and faculty teachers – a multimedia contactless digital panel with which students can check their schedules, work with multimedia files and connect to the social networks of the university.

 

The FinU Rector attended the presentation of the specialized information security laboratory by the NGO Echelon and got acquainted with the draft information protection training program, which provides for the study of the main types of attacks, protection tools and the skills’ development to repel cyber attacks in real time not only at the University, but also on external sites, as part of specialized computer security championships.

 

Stanislav Prokofiev noted the relevance of this initiative’s development in regards with the importance of working with confidential data and stressed the importance of knowledge in information security in all areas of business.

 

Denis Baranov, CEO of Positive Technologies, continued a series of meetings with representatives of the professional community with a lecture on typical methods of attacking the company’s network.

 

The Rector of the FinU also took part in a scientific discussion on the possibilities and risks of mathematics’ digitalization. During the discussion, the trend towards the integration of mathematics and programming was noted.

 

During the visit, Stanislav Prokofiev attended a pitch session and a defense of projects developed by school students in robotics and entrepreneurship in the robotics laboratory.

 

As part of the IT Day program, a solemn signing of a cooperation agreement between the FinU and the Open Mobile Platform company and the opening of the branded Aurora mobility laboratory took place. The laboratory will become a platform for training, and expertise  development on the trusted Russian Aurora platform, and will also create the necessary conditions for the professional and creative development of the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis of the Financial University.

 

“The opening of the Aurora Mobility Laboratory will allow us to introduce advanced domestic technologies and modern software and hardware solutions into the educational process, which, of course, will contribute to improving the quality of student training. We have already developed a curriculum that includes many different programs, forms of activities including those aimed at creating an ecosystem of learning on the Aurora OS,” said Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector.

 

“Since the establishment of the Open Mobile Platform company, one of the key areas of our work has been projects that raise new personnel for technologically sovereign Russia,” comments Pavel Eiges, CEO of the Open Mobile Platform company. “The mobility laboratory at the FinU is another leap towards the development of sovereign technological expertise with an emphasis on domestic mobile technologies and their application in various industries, including education.”

 

The mobility laboratory is equipped with the necessary devices and materials, including a demo zone where smartphones and tablets running the Aurora OS are presented. In addition to training programs and seminars, it will conduct research on the mobility use  in people’s work and life.

The official part of the event was completed by the ceremony of awarding diplomas to the ICPC sports programming team of the FinU with Damir Bekirov, Semyon Babich, Yuri Korobkov and coach Sergey Korchagin.
