On December 7, 2022, FinU summed up the results of the All-Russian competition of projects on budget submission for citizens.

 

The ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners was held as part of the conference “Budget for Citizens and Financial Literacy”.  The purpose of the competition is to support projects which give citizens basic information about the budget. The event is held by the FinU in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Financial Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance.

 

The Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Alexey Lavrov addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. In his speech, he noted the importance of the conference as the only platform combining the best projects on budget provision for citizens and financial literacy, and stressed that the interaction of these areas contributes to effective financial management.

Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, addressing the conference participants, noted that FinU, together with the Ministry of Finance, has been the operator of the All-Russian competition for the provision of budget projects for citizens and the federal operator in the field of financial education for eight years, which allows combining projects in budget and financial literacy.

 

Speaking about the competition of budget projects, the Rector stressed the importance of the platform work for the exchange of experience:

“The competition allows accumulating the best practices for promoting budget literacy and involving citizens in the process of budget formation and decision-making”.

 

Stanislav Prokofiev noted the growing interest in the competition from both individuals and legal entities and added that events of this format contribute to the promotion of the financier’s image and the job development.

 

Svetlana Solyannikova, Vice-Recor for Scientific Work at the FinU, told the conference participants about the development results of the All-Russian competition for the provision of budget projects for citizens. The Vice-Rector also presented the best projects that won the competition in 2022 – the best budget video and the best budget project event for citizens.

 

The conference work was continued by the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the All-Russian competition.  Certificates and memorable gifts were presented to the winners by Mikhail Kotyukov, Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, noting the variety of projects presented and the quality of their study.

 

Mikhail Kotyukov opened the second section of the discussion platform dedicated to the best practices of the regions in the field of financial education. The Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia stressed that the key topics of educational events in the field of financial education were the issues of public finance, budget and tax literacy.

 

The conference was completed by a section dedicated to methods of working with the adult population.
