On November 20, 2022, an Open Doors Day was held at the FinU full-time, which was attended by more than 3 thousand guests. They got acquainted with the history of the FinU, talked with the deans of faculties, found out what educational programs and projects the Financial University implements. For those who could not come to the event, an online broadcast of the meeting was organized.

 

The official part of the event was opened by Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice-Rector for Marketing and Work with Applicants. In her welcoming speech, she stressed that FinU follows the principle of education continuity, which allows you to receive and update knowledge throughout your life. The university has its own lyceum, works with school children, implements many specialized bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate programs, including with the support of industrial partners.

 

An important indicator of the University work, the Vice-Rector added, is its position in international and Russian rankings: FinU is consistently among the best universities in the world, and among national rankings it takes prizes in terms of demand for students and alumni.

 

Ekaterina Kameneva, Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work told the guests of the Open Doors Day about the educational opportunities of the FinU, noting a wide range of directions. The Vice-Rector stressed that the FinU is among the best universities for training specialists in finance, economics and management, while the University is constantly improving and expanding the range of specialties. More than 80% of the educational programs’ portfolio have quality marks of external independent evaluation, which confirms their compliance with the labor market requirements. Students can also take additional advanced training courses and specification programs to be more competitive.

 

The presentation was continued by the speech of Grigory Ostapenko, Vice-Rector for Digitalization. In his welcoming speech, he stressed the relevance of the skills’ combination in IT and Finance, and also noted the importance of the fundamental knowledge interaction with digital technologies. Grigory Ostapenko said that three main approaches are used in working with IT specialization at the FinU: internal additional IT education, work on practical projects and launching startups. Students actively implement their ideas in the field of machine learning and big data analysis. Several successful projects were presented to the guests of the Open Doors Day. In addition, the teams of the FinU actively participate in various programming Olympiads, esports and other events.

 

Alexander Kozharinov, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Extracurricular Activities, told the meeting participants in detail about extracurricular work – the activities of creative and sports clubs, the work of student self-government. He added that students not only actively participate in the extracurricular life of the University, but also organize major projects themselves. Summing up, Alexander Kozharinov stressed that the FinU creates opportunities not only for educational and scientific development, but also for expressing the maximum of our students’ talents.

 

The honorary guests of the Open Doors Day were FinU alumni, who realized themselves in various fields of business. They shared with future applicants their personal history of studying at the FinU and further career development. The alumni noted the importance of positive competition inherent in the university, the quality and practical orientation of the acquired knowledge.

 

Further, as part of the presentation program, Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice-Rector for Marketing and Work with Applicants, told the guests about the admission rules in 2023. She drew the attention of the guests to the specifics of submitting documents and enrollment stages, told about the accounting of individual achievements and the Olympiads’ participation.

 

For future applicants and their parents, during the Open Doors Day there were consulting zones on preparation for admission, career planning, participation in specialized Olympiads.

 

During the Open Doors Day, the guests also talked with volunteers and representatives of the FinU Student Council, took part in specialized workshops and career guidance events, and saw the numbers of FinU creative teams.
