On September 9, 2022, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation hosted the final projects’ presentation by students of leading economic universities developed within the conference “Public Finance and Financial Markets: Challenges of the Present and a Model of the Future”. The event is timed to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance of Russia and is held as part of the youth program of the VI Moscow Financial Forum at the FinU.
The meeting with the students was opened by Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation. The Head of the Ministry of Finance of Russia congratulated the participants, experts and guests on the anniversary, noting that the final projects’ presentation continues a series of solemn events.
For two days, representatives of seven leading economic universities in teams worked on proposals for thematic tracks synchronized with the MFF-2022 program – the Russian economy sustainability, adaptation of the tax system to modern challenges, efficiency of budget expenditures, inter-budgetary relations, financial market and investment, digital transformation of public finances and federal property management.
The Russian Minister of Finance evaluated the proposals put forward by the team leaders and gave his comments on their further implementation. Anton Siluanov paid special attention to the variety of ideas and the quality of their elaboration. During the presentation, it was noted that all proposals will be included in the draft program for the state financial system development .
The honored guests of the projects’ presentation were members of the student conference expert jury – Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov, Rector of the FinU Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of Rostov State University of Economics Elena Makarenko, Vice-Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Ksenia Ekimova, Vice-Rector of RANEPA Dmitry Butashin, Director of FRI Vladimir Nazarov, Auditor of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zaitsev, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Alexey Korabelnikov and Deputy Head of the Board of Trustees of the FinU Mikhail Alekseev.
The event ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates to participants and experts of the conference.
