FinU students from the Competence Assessment Center got jobs at the Federal Treasury.
In 2022, the Competence Center of the Financial University together with the Treasury of Russia conducted a competitive selection for the position of chief specialists in various areas (control of financing, working with the state budget, etc.) among senior year students.

Based on the results of the assessment conducted in the Competence Center within the project of the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”, 26 students of the Faculty of Finance, the Faculty of International Economic Relations and the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis were selected.
Having analyzed the competence profiles of students and interviewed them, 3 people were directly employed as chief specialists in the department of funding control. Currently, 23 more students are undergoing additional selection.

“The Competence Center of the Financial University is our special pride. The excellent experience of interacting with the Federal Tax Service and corporate employers shows the relevance of the approach taken in which students are evaluated, and the employer receives profiles of potential candidates for analysis. We are glad that the Federal Treasury, a prestigious employer with the highest reputation in the labor market of financial specialists, has joined the pool of partners of the Competence Center of the Financial University,” said Dmitry Guzhelya, Head of the Methodology and Evaluation Department of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”.

Mark Zabora, a senior year student of the Financial University, shared how participation in the Competence Center project contributed to his obtaining a job, “Thanks to the assistance of the Faculty of Finance, I found out what the Competence Center is, and it was the Center that opened up many opportunities for me. The main one is employment in the Interregional Operational Department of the Federal Treasury. For me, the main “soft” skills have always been successful communication and commitment. They are the ones that help me in any job interviews. Working in the public sector also implies constant interaction with colleagues, other departments and bodies in general. Soft skills allow you to freely build a competent dialogue and solve any assigned work tasks”.

According to Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice-Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants, “Currently, only professional knowledge is not enough to build a successful career. Students and alumni need supra-professional competencies that make it possible to open up an individual development trajectory for them. In particular, the Treasury pays attention to one’s ability to analyze information, focus on results, resist stress, plan and organize, following the rules. The Competence Center of the Financial University also actively works with the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the international staffing group ANCOR, etc. We hope that the pool of employers will grow”.

The Competence Assessment Center is a project implemented within the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” jointly with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. At the moment, more than 100 universities of the country and more than 120 thousand students are involved in the project.
