On April 13, 2022, the FinU signed a Protocol of Intent and a Cooperation Roadmap for 2022-2024 with the MSU-BIT University in Shenzhen (China) to develop scientific, educational and cultural relations. The corresponding documents were signed by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, and Li Hezhang, Rector of the MSU-BIT University in Shenzhen.

Starting the signing ceremony, FinU Rector noted that the University traditionally pays great attention to the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation in education and science. Moreover, Rector Prokofiev also stressed the growing interest in the economy and culture of China from Russian students, noting that more than 200 of them study Chinese as a foreign language. Also, more than 60 students and postgraduates from China are currently studying at the Financial University.

“Today we are starting a new stage of cooperation with the leading university of the People’s Republic of China. As part of cooperation, we are planning to develop joint educational programs and conduct scientific research. Also we are going to organize mutual student and scientific exchanges, and open an International Laboratory for Digital Currencies and Digital Financial Assets. This event is especially important, since it is the People’s Republic of China that has provided the best international practice in this area, especially in regard to the digital yuan promotion,” said Rector Prokofiev. He also engaged the Chinese delegation representatives in the main University activities and expressed hope for long-term cooperation.

In turn, Li Hezhang, Rector of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, stressed the importance of developing interuniversity cooperation to further strengthen relations between the countries.

“The Protocol of Intent signing will contribute to further development of bilateral cooperation. During our joint work, we will train professionals for strategic cooperation between Russia and China, and the establishment of academic ties is particularly important. Also, the launch of joint scientific projects will make a great contribution to world science development,” said Li Hezhang.

 Representatives of the University management were also present in the meeting from Shenzhen MSU-BIT University.

First Vice-Rector of MSU-BIT University Sergey Shakhray spoke about the main features and activities of the leading Chinese university. He noted that the key task of the joint educational project is to train young specialists in China with the best Russian educational programs. They are necessary to implement Russian and Chinese economic projects in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as to develop a dialogue of cultures and mutual understanding of peoples.
