University of Havana, founded by the order of Dominicans in 1728, is the largest and oldest educational center in Cuba. Currently, about 25 thousand students are studying at 18 faculties in 32 specialties. 1273 teachers are employed by the university and more than 50% of them have a PhD degree. The University maintains extensive international connections with educational and scientific institutions in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Historically, relations between Cuba and Russia have been excellent at all levels and in all fields. And cooperation in the sphere of higher education is no exception.

Within the framework of the meeting, Vice Rector for International Cooperation Alexander Linnikov and Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Maxim Kotelnikov discussed the issues of academic mobility of teachers and students of the Financial University and the University of Havana. In addition, Cuban students were offered to join the main educational programs of the Financial University, including MA and PhD programs as well as the Pre-University Training Faculty.
