On March 17th, 2022, FinU students from the Pre-University Training Faculty joined a tour to Bolshaya Sadovaya Street 10, a communal apartment of Mikhail Bulgakov.

The students learned more about the history of this building, found out that the house on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street 10 was a tenement house before the revolution: the apartments were rented out there. During the Soviet Union period, the spacious premises turned into communal rooms for the employees of printing houses.

The lecturer said that Mikhail Bulgakov lived in one of the rooms among the proletariat. In addition, the students learned how people who moved to Moscow in the 1920s-30s lived, and how the writer began his creative career. In the museum the students could see the first publications of the works by Mikhail Bulgakov: “Notes of a Young Doctor” and “The Fatal Eggs”.

After the museum, the students of the Pre-University Training Faculty took a stroll to the city center, with the Patriarchal Ponds being their starting point.
