From December 3-5, 2025, Russia served as the host nation for the International Conference on "Technologies for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources". The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation was honored with the mission of organizing this significant event, welcoming participants from around the globe. The conference was held under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP).
The conference was co-organized by the Russian House for International Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the UN ESCAP. The primary objective of the event was to strengthen international cooperation in sustainable development and the efficient management of natural resources.
Discussions during the conference covered critical areas such as supporting low-carbon development, implementing advanced resource management technologies, the rational exploitation of subsurface resources, and expanding international engagement in ecology and sustainable development.
The International Conference brought together leading scientists, researchers, industry leaders, and government representatives from Asia-Pacific countries. Experts shared their research and best practices, discussing modern approaches to the assessment and sustainable utilization of natural resources within the region.
A key highlight was the 21st session of the UN ESCAP Governing Council for the Asia-Pacific region, which was also successfully conducted as part of the conference.
The successful hosting of this conference at the Financial University marks a significant step forward in fostering business and scientific collaboration, reinforcing international ties, and facilitating the exchange of cutting-edge expertise in addressing global environmental and economic challenges.
