Open Day: Your Path to Success Begins at the Financial University

University15 February 2026

On February 15, 2026, Financial University opened its doors to prospective students and their parents, offering a comprehensive guide to the world of professional opportunities.

The event was opened by the university’s Rector, Stanislav Prokofiev:

“Today’s successful person is a professional with an active life position, who works hard and receives fair compensation. We want our graduates to be the most sought-after by employers. To achieve this, we help applicants build an individual path to success — from school to employment — taking into account deep knowledge and personal interests.

Financial University is a trendsetter in education. In 2025, it was ranked among the top 10 universities in Russia by RAEX. The university graduates 17,000 specialists annually, placing it among the top 3 in the country by number of graduates. The quality of education is confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Labor and Social Protection: Financial University is in the top 5 for graduate employment and salary levels, with 85% of graduates securing well-paid jobs within their first year after graduation.

At Financial University, a fundamentally new educational model is implemented, combining two degrees in one diploma. These programs are developed jointly with market leaders or created in direct response to requests from key industry partners.

Ambitious students have access to double degree programs with leading universities, including Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, and MGIMO. The university actively develops partnerships with top educational institutions across the EAEU, Asia, Latin America, and the Gulf States. In particular, Financial University cooperates with leading Chinese universities, offering double degree bachelor’s and master’s programs. These international partnerships cover 24 countries and enable hundreds of students to study abroad each year.

To become a truly competitive professional, a broad spectrum of skills is essential. At Financial University, students can earn additional qualifications beyond their main program for a nominal fee. The StudUp Center offers over 50 courses, ranging from foreign languages to modern fintech. Many of these programs are delivered in partnership with major companies like Sberbank, VTB, and Alfa-Bank.

Rector Stanislav Prokofiev also presented a new service developed by students of the university — FinCoin.

“Universities worldwide are undergoing a profound transformation toward the ‘University 4.0’ model. This global trend means students, with help from teachers and mentors, can build their own individual educational paths. The idea of ‘students as investors in their own education’ is a completely new concept in Russian education, and as a leading university, we strive to be at the forefront of this innovation” Prokofiev explained

FinCoin is an internal quasi-currency that can be exchanged for real rewards from the university — from branded merchandise to additional professional training courses and exclusive events and partner offers. By participating in faculty masterclasses and interactive sessions, prospective students earned their first points, experiencing firsthand the role of investors in their own development. This approach is unique in Russia, with Financial University being the first institution to implement such an educational model successfully.

Financial University maintains direct connections with employers: 90% of programs are designed in cooperation with industry leaders, and faculties feature laboratories and educational spaces from key partners. These include Alfa-Bank’s digital department, modern VTB classrooms, unique PSB Bank labs, Sber’s educational spaces, and Russia’s only Digital Trading Exchange — the MOEX LAB digital laboratory.

Starting in their third year, students begin paid internships at partner companies — over 2,000 organizations participating. The university also participates in the “Internship by Ministry of Science and Higher Education” program and is launching a similar project with the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. Students can defend their theses by solving real business challenges provided by employers, becoming part of professional teams already during their studies.

Financial University successfully implements an entrepreneurial university model. In 2025, it ranked 6th among leaders in technology entrepreneurship, according to the Expert Analytical Center. A unique business environment supports students’ startups, with experienced mentors helping develop projects from the idea stage to first clients. Students may also receive grants from university partners for project development.

Student life at Financial University is not only about studying but also about holistic development. There are dozens of creative clubs, theater groups, and over 70 sports sections. Volunteer groups, a search squad, and the “WE ARE TOGETHER” sewing workshop are active. The university’s expedition club has climbed Mount Elbrus, and its flag has even been to space. Modern coworking spaces have been created for effective study, and non-local students have comfortable housing in eight well-equipped halls of residence in central Moscow.

The official Open Day program continued with Vice-Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, who explained the 2026 admissions rules, document submission procedures, enrollment stages, and the consideration of individual achievements and Olympiad results.

The event offered a rich program: prospective students learned about the university’s faculties and educational programs, visited career guidance zones, and benefited from expert consultations on preparing for national exams and Olympiad application procedures. Future students also attended employer masterclasses, student council interactive sessions, and met university partners to learn about internships and career prospects.
