On March 27, 2026, the national rankings of educational institutions by graduate employment rates were published on the “Work in Russia” portal. These rankings are based on data from government sources and are compiled separately for each field of study, taking into account both employment rates and salary levels of graduates. The ranking methodology was developed jointly by the Ministry of Labor of Russia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and the Ministry of Education of Russia. The rankings are designed to help prospective students objectively assess their career prospects in the labor market.
Financial University ranked in the top three in nine national graduate employment rankings across various fields of study, securing two first-place positions.
The university achieved first place in the following areas: Mathematics and Mechanics (Master’s, small enrollment) and Education and Pedagogical Sciences (Master’s, small enrollment). Financial University took second place in the rankings for Sociology and Social Work (Bachelor’s, large enrollment), Service and Tourism (Master’s, large enrollment), as well as Computer Science and Computing Technology (Master’s, small enrollment). Third places were achieved in Linguistics and Literary Studies (Master’s, small enrollment), Economics and Management (Bachelor’s, large enrollment), Mass Media (Master’s, small enrollment), and Sociology and Social Work (Master’s, large enrollment).
“Training professionals in high demand by Russian employers is among Financial University’s top priorities. Our high graduate employment rate—which consistently exceeds the national average for our fields of study—is one of our university’s competitive advantages. These achievements, especially in applied fields closely linked to the digital transformation of the economy and the financial sector, and hence our leading positions in the national rankings, are ensured by our ‘education through profession’ strategy, which minimizes the gap between study and career start. In particular, Financial University has established base departments in partnership with leading market companies, government agencies, and major banks to train specialists deeply familiar with industry specifics. We are continuously expanding our pool of partners and developing new, unique educational programs to produce highly qualified specialists who not only meet the demands of the labor market, but are also able to tackle the country’s economic development challenges,” said Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of Financial University.
The national graduate employment rankings have been calculated by presidential order since 2025 and are part of the national project “Human Resources.” Each university’s position is determined by two equally weighted indicators: the proportion of graduates employed two years after graduation and their median salary in the second year of employment. The data is provided by Rosobrnadzor and the Russian Social Fund.
In 2026, university rankings were compiled for the first time across 52 broad fields of study. It is important to note that these rankings are not an integrated assessment of an institution’s performance, but rather reflect the demand for their graduates in the labor market compared to other universities offering training in the same fields.
