Preparatory Faculty

The mission of the Preparatory Faculty is to prepare international students, who do not speak Russian, for higher education at the Financial University and other universities of the Russian Federation in bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s, PhD, and doctoral programs. The faculty offers three majors: economics, engineering and technical, and humanities.

Every year, about 250–300 students from more than 65 countries study at the Faculty. Students from India, China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Korea, Sri Lanka, Japan, Nigeria, Angola, Zambia, Kenya, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Syria, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Peru, Bolivia, and many other countries have studied at the faculty.

Our faculty is equipped with modern classrooms featuring multimedia technology. Students also have access to libraries and coworking spaces for independent and group work.

We work with a wonderful team of highly qualified and dedicated teachers, each bringing profound expertise to the classroom. Beyond language instruction, our courses are enriched with cultural events and captivating excursions, offering an immersive experience of Russian culture.

Admission Terms and Conditions

The Preparatory Faculty offers a one-year program in the Russian language designed for further admission to bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s, or doctoral programs (profiles: economic, humanitarian, engineering and technical). 

The duration of study is 1 year (2 semesters).

The start date for studies at the Preparatory Faculty Faculty is September 8.

Application submissions for the Preparatory Faculty are accepted from July 1 to December 1, 2025.

 The tuition fee for is 270,000 rubles per year.

 After successful completion of studies at the Preparatory Faculty, students will get a Certificate.

Students who do not pass the exams can request a document of study with a list of studied disciplines and their hours.

  • Passport
  • Educational certificate
  • Notarized translations of both documents into Russian
  • Student’s photo (JPG format)
  • Current email address
  • Mobile phone number

Organization of Student Visa and Registration Support

I. Issuance of Invitations for Entry into the Russian Federation

  • Fill out the form to request an invitation for study and send the document to: rusedu@fa.ru
  • After receiving the invitation, you should contact the Russian Embassy or Consulate in your country to obtain a student entry visa for Moscow (the processing time for the invitation is 40 calendar days);

II. Registration of Migration Documents.

Within 2 days of entering Russia, you must provide 

  • Original passport + 3 copies;
  • Original entry visa + 2 copies;
  • Migration card (issued at the border) with purpose of entry "Study" + 3 copies;
  • Completed notification of arrival and visa application form.
  • Documents are submitted to the Visa Department at Moscow, Leningradsky Prospekt, 51/1, Room 0209 (Metro station «Aeroport»).


Medical Documents Required for Admission (must be notarized translated into Russian):

  • Blood tests for HIV/AIDS, RW, HBC, HCV, malaria;
  • Vaccination certificates against infectious diseases;
  • Certificate of vaccinations received;
  • Fluorography;
  • Dermatologist’s conclusion;
  • Stool tests for helminth eggs;
  • Infectious disease specialist’s conclusion;
  • Form 086/u (can be issued in Moscow), which includes: examination by a general practitioner, surgeon, neurologist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist (otorhinolaryngologist), as well as general blood and urine tests.

The university assists international students in concluding an insurance contract immediately after arrival.

Note! All documents and medical certificates must be translated into Russian. Translations must be done at Russian Embassies or Consulates abroad or by notary offices in Moscow.

Arrival at the Faculty

  1. Inform the dean’s office via email: rusedu@fa.ru and send your electronic ticket (it is recommended to purchase a ticket for weekdays).
  2. Provide the following documents to the dean’s office:
  • Original passport and notarized translation into Russian;
  • Original educational document and its notarized translation into Russian, legalized if necessary;
  • 8 color photographs (3x4 cm) on matte paper;
  • Medical insurance policy (DMS);
  • Medical documents (must be translated into Russian):
  • Blood tests for HIV/AIDS, RW, HBC, HCV, malaria;
  • Vaccination certificates against infectious diseases;
  • Certificate of vaccinations received;
  • Fluorography;
  • Dermatologist’s conclusion;
  • Stool tests for helminth eggs;
  • Infectious disease specialist’s conclusion.

Form 086/u (can be issued in Moscow), which includes: examination by a general practitioner, surgeon, neurologist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist (otorhinolaryngologist), as well as general blood and urine tests.

Ensure you have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, medical insurance, and accommodation in a hall of residence.
