About the department

Welcome to the Department of Logistics!

On November 13, 2018, the FinU Academic Council decided to establish the Department of Logistics, which from December 01, 2018 (Rector’s Order No. 2192/o dated November 20, 2018) began to function as the Department of Logistics. After the merger with the Faculty “Logistics and Marketing”, the Faculty of Logistics and Marketing was formed. On September 01, 2023 it was renamed to the Department of Logistics.

The Department includes a unique laboratory AXELOT LAB - "Digital Technologies in Logistics".

“This is a unique project, which will allow the University to significantly improve the quality of training of new specialists. Direct cooperation with a specialized software developer and equipment supplier represented by AXELOT allowed us to obtain the latest versions of systems, all necessary equipment and, most importantly, valuable practical experience for teaching students. As you know, theory and textbooks quickly become outdated, especially in such a dynamically developing industry as logistics, so it is extremely important to keep up with modern technologies so that our students can become sought-after specialists in the industry,” said Frank-Detlef Wende, Head of the Department of Logistics and Marketing at the Faculty of Economics.

The mission of the Department of Logistics is to be the leading Russian center in education of highly qualified, in-demand logistics specialists who possess a system of modern views, values and attitudes that meet the challenges of modern society in the digital economy.

The strategic goal of the Department of Logistics is the formation of logistics skills in accordance with international and general educational standards, using innovative educational technologies that ensure the introduction of a competency-based learning model and a multi-level approach to mastering modern knowledge in relevant areas of professional activity in order to increase the competitiveness.
