Engagement in activities of various international associations, alliances and network universities is a crucial direction of Financial University's internationalization strategy. Active participation in events held under the auspices of these organizations enables us to constantly expand the network of our partners and attract leading foreign experts to cooperate with our university.

The International Relations Office coordinates interaction with international associations and invites all interested professors, students and researchers to utilize partner resources to develop new international projects.

Association of Asian Universities

The Association of Asian Universities is a platform for creating a unified educational space in the Asian region, accelerating integration processes in the field of higher education, as well as expanding academic mobility and cultural ties. In addition to organization of international student forums and summer schools, the Association publishes the “Society and Security Insights” journal to promote communication between leading scientists on cross-border cooperation. The Association consists of more than 100 member universities from 11 Asian countries.

Financial University signed the Protocol on joining the Association in 2022.

Association of Economic Universities of South and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea Region (ASECU)

The Association was established in 1996 with the initiative of the rector of the University of Macedonia (Greece). In order to promote the interests of economic universities in Southern and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea, the ASECU carries out the following forms of cooperation:

  • student exchanges;
  • cross-border mobility of teaching and research staff;
  • publication of a joint scientific journal;
  • providing an opportunity to mutually recognize academic degrees of participating universities;
  • joint research for the benefit of economy, society, peace and cultural development of the ASECU member countries.

FinU joined the Association in 2017.

United Nations Academic Impact Initiative (UNAI)

Under the UNAI initiative, higher education institutions work with the United Nations to promote the implementation of UN goals and principles, including the protection of human rights, universal access to education, and sustainable development.

There are more than 1,600 member organizations in more than 150 countries, covering more than 25 million people on the international education arena.

FinU has been officially endorsing the Initiative since 2021.

University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR)

By bringing together universities from the countries located on the historic Great Silk Road, the Alliance functions as a global platform for educational organizations to collaborate on cultural exchanges, organize scientific and educational courses and events, creating educational synergies between participants. The UASR is part of the Silk Road Economic Belt project launched in 2013 by the Chinese President Xi Jinping to promote international economic growth and development. Currently, the Alliance has more than 150 participants from 37 countries.

Financial University entered the Alliance in 2022.

FinU’s Membership in Subject-Specific International Associations

Association of Sino-Russian Economic Universities (ASREU)

The Declaration of the establishment of the ASREU was adopted in Beijing in 2013 by the heads of the leading economic universities in China and Russia, and FinU joined the Association in 2014. The main activities of the Association are:

  • creation of an educational platform for economic universities of Russia and China;
  • joint international educational and scientific projects;
  • exchange of experience and academic mobility.

The permanent secretariats of the ASREU were established on the basis of the Saint Petersburg State Economic University and the University of International Business and Economics (Beijing).

International Association of Economic and Financial Educational Institutions (IAEFEI)

The aim of the Association is to coordinate activities of organizations interested in improving financial and economic education and training technologies, as well as to represent their interests in official public and international organizations.

The IAEFEI was established in 2011, with Financial University being one of its founders. Within the framework of the Association’s activities, FinU implements the project “Digital Teacher’s Workshop”.

International Social Security Association (ISSA)

The ISSA was founded in 1927 under the auspices of the International Labor Organization, and nowadays it has more than 320 member organizations from more than 160 countries. The main goal of the Association is to improve social security management via the development of professional recommendations, expertise, and provision of services and support that enable its members to develop dynamic social security systems around the world.

FinU joined the ISSA in 2020.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization Law School Alliance

International exchanges and cooperation between research institutes in the field of law education are an important element of diplomacy of SCO members. The purpose of the SCO Law School Alliance is to provide a platform for multilateral exchange of knowledge in the field of law and to assist in the development of curricula and training of international lawyers.

FinU became a member of the Alliance in 2022.

World Coal Association (WCA)

The World Coal Association promotes the development of a modernized coal value chain, fostering innovation and supporting global economic and environmental goals.

Financial University has been a strategic partner of the WCA since 2021.

FinU’s Participation in Network Universities

Eurasian Network University

The Eurasian Network University was created with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) and is aimed at developing the human and intellectual capital of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and contributing to improving the international competitiveness of the EAEU countries. The research and education consortium trains qualified personnel using distance learning technologies, promotes personal growth of young people in the spirit of the values of Eurasian integration, and organizes research and development programs.

Within the framework of the FinU’s Cooperation Program with the EAEC, the following activities are carried out:

  • implementation of educational programs and projects;
  • analytical and research cooperation;
  • involvement of students and teachers in the functioning of the EAEU.
  • Financial University joined the Eurasian Network University in 2023.

Network University of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS NU)

In 2008, Russia, with the support of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, created the CIS Network University in order to deepen educational cooperation among the member countries. On June 11, 2009, the Agreement on the Consortium for the creation of the CIS Network University was signed in Moscow.

The CIS NU includes 46 leading universities from 8 CIS member states: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, the Russian Federation and Tajikistan. The CIS NU offers 35 master’s programs.

Financial University joined the CIS NU in 2023.

Russian-African Network University (RAFU)

The RAFU is a consortium of more than 60 universities and research centers in Russia and African countries that follows the objectives of creating a common educational space, developing academic mobility programs and promoting intercultural dialogue. The RAFU functions as a platform for educational courses in Russian, English and French, which will later be used to design the curricula of joint educational programs.

Financial University became part of the RAFU in 2022.
