On March 21, 2024, the second festival of student’s continuing education – StudUp FEST was held at the FinU, as part of which a solemn ceremony was held to award the best students who have completed their studies in the programs of continuing education.  The bright festival was held in one go and will be remembered by the participants for a long time.

The celebration of the student’s continuing education is becoming a good tradition of the FinU!

The opening ceremony began with a video greeting from Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU.

“I am glad to welcome the participants of the Open Doors Day of the student’s continuing education at the FinU!

This is the second year that the FinU has been holding this large-scale event. The student’s continuing education is the FinU’s response to the modern demands. Many people have rightly noticed and still notice that after graduation, alumni do not always become in demand in the labor market. Employers say the reason is the lack of experience, relevant practical knowledge, and soft skills. Specifically in order to bring the student closer to the labor market conditions, we have created the StudUp project — continuing education for students,” said the Rector.

Stanislav Prokofiev noted that the FinU is one of the first universities in Russia to organize a Center for student education in its structure.

Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with a bright welcoming speech. In his speech, he noted the importance of comprehensive personal development and presented diplomas in the nomination “Hope of the Regions” to students from the St. Petersburg and Smolensk branches of the FinU.

It was a great honor for our festival and the University to have Roman Marchenko, a veteran of a special military operation and a hero of our time, among the invited stars. Roman awarded the guys in the “Magic of Power” nomination.

The best students were also congratulated by the honorary guests of the festival: theater and film actor Maxim Drozd, test cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, director of the Your Power of Good Foundation Nadezhda Popova, Russian boxer, Olympic champion, world and European champion, head coach of the Russian boxing team Alexander Lebzyak, Olympic and world champions Denis Lebedev, Raimkul Malakhbetov, Alexander Kurdyumov, First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)  Ivan Alekseev, President of the Russian Urban Sports Federation Nadezhda Pavlova, Russian bandy player, Master of Sports of Russia of international class, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, head coach of the Dynamo Moscow team Evgeny Ivanushkin, hockey player, two-time champion of Russia, two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup Sergey Konkov, Russian theater and film actor Neil Kropalov, as well as Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, better known as prankers “Vovan” and “Lexus.”

Alumni of the continuing education programs received certificates in the nominations “Hope of the Regions”, “Magic of Power”, “Master of the Creative Industry”, “Creators of New Meanings”, “Lord of Networks”, “Financial Uppercut”, “Mission Possible”, “Master of Fine Arts”, “Guardian of the Network Galaxy”.

According to tradition, the holiday ended with the performance of the FinU anthem and a speech by the Vice-Rector for Continuing Education Elena Didenko.

As part of the StudUp FEST, there was an exhibition of educational programs of the student vocational school, where students could study the retraining and advanced training programs available to them and immediately enroll in the next courses.
