26 March 2024
The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University will jointly conduct training in the bachelor’s degree program “Digitalization of Financial Products and Services”. The corresponding agreement was signed by the rectors of the two universities on March 21, 2024 at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Training under the new program will begin on September 1.
Alumni will receive two diplomas from leading Russian universities – an economist and an IT specialist. Future students will receive a unique set of skills in economics and finance combined with the ability to create, implement and apply modern information systems and technologies. The demand for such specialists from employers is one of the highest in the labor market.
“The signing of the agreement on the implementation of the double-degree program “Digitalization of Financial Products and Services” together with Bauman Moscow State Technical University is a truly significant, historical event for the FinU. This bachelor’s degree program is unique for the Russian educational market – two leading Russian universities with a rich and long-term history, scientific schools and traditions have created a single program, combining efforts each in their field in order to train specialists who simultaneously possess skills in finance and information technology. It is very pleasant that the first university with which we concluded this agreement was Bauman Moscow State Technical University, an absolute and universally recognized leader in domestic engineering education. I am sure that our ambitious educational project will help talented students build a successful career in the professional field at the junction of two degrees,
” said Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, at the signing ceremony.
In turn, Mikhail Gordin, Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, stressed,
“I am very pleased that we are doing such a joint program with the leader of financial education in Russia, namely applied financial education. Due to the double degree, we will give applicants the opportunity to get the best from both systems: financial and economic knowledge and engineering knowledge that are applicable in different fields of technology and information systems. These will be, without exaggeration, specialists of the new formation.”
The agreement provides for the joint implementation of a four-year higher education program “Digitalization of Financial Products and Services” in two areas of training: 03/38.01 “Economics”; 03/9/02 “Information Systems and Technologies”.
Disciplines will be taught at both universities: the general humanitarian and financial and economic cycle - at the FinU, the cycles of mathematics, programming and IT – at BMSTU. The cycle of disciplines on financial technologies will be implemented jointly by universities.
The training will be carried out on two campuses: at the FinU – at the Faculty of Finance, at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University – at the Faculty of Computer Science and Management Systems.
During their visit to BMSTU, the delegation of FinU also visited a number of buildings of the new campus that have already been commissioned, which is being built as part of the national project “Science and Universities”. The guests visited the Research Center, the Engineering Center “Land Transport Systems”, as well as the Multifunctional Scientific and Educational Building.
