In honor of the FinU’s anniversary, a festive concert was held with the participation of the Rosgvardia Academic Song and Dance Ensemble.

On the day of the 105th FinU’s anniversary, a festive concert was held in the Nobel Hall. Among the guests of honor are outstanding alumni, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, heads of federal media, as well as partners and friends of the University.

The event was opened by Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector. In his welcoming speech, he recalled the main milestones of the University’s formation and emphasized the significant role of all rectors in the development of the University at various historical stages.

“Dear friends, today, on the day of the 105th FinU’s anniversary, a truly historic event took place – the staff of the FinU received the state award of the Honorary Badge of the President of the Russian Federation “For Success in Work”. Established back in 1919, the University grew and strengthened along with the country. Wonderful specialists have come out of the walls of our University, all of them are true professionals, united by common values, who work for the benefit of their Homeland. Among our alumni there are 8 finance ministers, big businessmen and entrepreneurs.

Today, the FinU is a huge university, which is one of the ten largest universities in the country and sets new vectors for the development of financial and economic education: introduces innovative educational models, develops interaction with leading universities in the country and promotes the brand of domestic education among foreign students. In 2023, our University set its own record for attracting foreign students, and today more than 2.5 thousand children from 92 countries of the world study at the University,” Stanislav Prokofiev said.

The festive event continued with the performance of the honored guests. Nikolay Zhuravlev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, congratulated the staff of the FinU on a significant anniversary date and read out a welcome address from the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, also sent his wishes to the staff of the FinU. The congratulatory address on his behalf was read out by Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov.

Congratulations from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov were conveyed by Deputy Minister Dmitry Afanasyev. Dmitry Zaitsev, the Auditor of the Accounts Chamber, addressed the participants of the festive event on behalf of Galina Izotova, Acting Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.

One of the largest military art groups in the country has prepared a special festive concert program for the anniversary of the FinU. For the guests of the holiday, the Rosgvardia Academic Song and Dance Ensemble performed the songs of the war years, beloved by many generations of Russians and legendary, as well as popular opera arias and hits of the national stage. The hall warmly welcomed the performance of the ensemble, accompanying all musical and choreographic numbers with applause, and the audience sang the legendary “Smuglianka” along with the artists.

One of the most emotional moments of the event was the performance of a musical composition dedicated to the memory of talented scientists, teachers, veterans and outstanding alumni of the University from different years – people who made a huge contribution to the development and formation of the FinU.

Also, the guests of the festive evening had a special surprise – they were the first to hear the legendary song “Pardonne-moi ce caprice d’enfant” in a new reading. In this unique version of French singer Mireille Mathieu's hit, the verses are dedicated to the FinU. The updated version of the song was performed by the Choir of the FinU together with the Rosgvardia Academic Song and Dance Ensemble.

The bright final chord of the festive concert was the performance of the anthem of the FinU.
