On February 19, 2024, a meeting was held between the leadership of the Financial University and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation, Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda. The delegation also included the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Zarrina Akhmedova, and the Attache for Education, Culture and Sports, Sukhrob Abdulloev. The participants discussed the possibilities and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education.

The guests were welcomed by Dmitry Semenov, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Work with GR. In his opening remarks, he stressed the importance of expanding and strengthening educational and research ties between Russia and Tajikistan. Dmitry Semenov noted the high potential for the development of cooperation in science and advanced training of specialists in economics, finance and management, and also told the guests about new educational technologies and digital tools developed at the university. ​He emphasized that traditionally, the FinU provides comprehensive support to foreign students of the University: throughout their studies, they actively participate in the extracurricular life of the University, manifesting themselves in social and creative activities.

In turn, Mr. Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda emphasized in his speech: Russia is one of Tajikistan’s key partners in training specialists, noted the importance of cooperation in the academic environment as a driver of the development of international relations, and also expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support to new joint projects.

During the negotiations, such areas of cooperation as the expansion of scientific cooperation, the formation and development of ties with leading universities in Tajikistan and the launch of joint educational programs and projects were highlighted. Special attention was paid to tools to increase the involvement of foreign students in the educational process.

On behalf of the FinU, the meeting was also attended by Elena Markina, Vice-rector for the Organization of the Educational process, Nina Kozlovtseva, Deputy Vice-Rector for Social Work and Extracurricular Activities, Lilia Prikhodko, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Malvina Karabasheva, Deputy Dean for Academic and Methodological Work of the Pre-University Faculty, and Aziza Azizova, Head of the Department for Work with Applicants.  

In conclusion, the parties expressed confidence that strengthening partnerships between the educational centers of the countries will contribute to the effective development of the higher education system and improve the quality of training.

During the visit to the FinU, the guests also visited the gallery of famous alumni of the University and talked with students from Tajikistan.​
