On February 14, 2024, the International Exhibition Russia EXPO hosted a Forum of national achievements dedicated to industry. On this day, representatives of government agencies and businesses presented the most significant achievements in industry, talked about the specifics of the work of various industries and outlined the main development directions. The FinU Rector Stanislav Prokofiev, as well as faculty and students of the University took part in the business program events.

Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, opened the plenary session on key achievements and results of industrial development. Speaking at the plenary session, Denis Manturov noted the enormous potential of the Russian industry, stressing that 89 regions of the Russian Federation have their own production facilities, among which are leading companies capable of becoming national champions, and spoke about business support measures.  The Deputy Prime Minister added that the Russian market remains extremely interesting for foreign investors.

The event was also attended by Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region, Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mikhail Karisalov, CEO of Sibur LLC, Peter Rodionov, CEO of Geropharm, Maxim Sokolov, CEO of AvtoVAZ JSC, Jan Center, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralmashzavod JSC. The moderator of the plenary session was Russian journalist, TV and radio presenter Vladimir Solovyov.

The participants of the discussion shared their experience and best practices in supporting the domestic industry, as well as talked about new technologies and developments created by Russian entrepreneurs. Special attention was paid to the successes in the import substitution and opportunities for further development of this area.

The business program was continued by expert panels dedicated to stimulating technological development, prospects for entering new markets, features of online exports and promotion of Russian brands abroad.

During the Day of Industry, experts paid special attention to personnel training issues. The key topic of the expert discussion “Personnel for industry: where supply and demand intersect” was the dynamics, structure and quality of demand for personnel. In the dialogue, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and the Ministry of Education of Russia, the State Duma, the RSPP, as well as educational organizations and large businesses, credit institutions discussed the attractiveness of the industry for young professionals.

The discussion was moderated by Gulnaz Kadyrova, Dean of the Faculty of Higher School of Management at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. Opening the work of the expert panel, she stressed that attracting highly qualified personnel to enterprises in the real sector of the economy is one of the key tasks ensuring the strengthening of technological sovereignty and the outstripping growth of manufacturing industries.

Speaking about the trends in the employment of young professionals in industry, Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, noted the importance of developing interaction between the university community and the employer and spoke about key projects aimed at integrating education and industry.

In his speech, the Director of the Department of Strategic Development and Corporate Policy​ Alexey Matushansky spoke about the formats of interaction with higher education and business developed in the ministry aimed at ensuring technological sovereignty: the new approach assumes a closer relationship between the tasks of a specific branch of the economy and the training of specialists.

Denis Kravchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Margarita Skvortsova, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Secondary Vocational Education and Vocational Training, as well as representatives of business and leading Russian universities, took part in the discussion of key issues facing the academic and business community.

The program of the Industry Day at VDNH was continued by a wide range of educational and cultural events.

Students of the FinU visited the exposition of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia “Made by us” in Pavilion E at VDNH. The tour was conducted by Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
