On February 14, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the IV International Olympiad on Financial Security in 2024, attended by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Olympiad movement on financial security, which started in 2021, today has more than 6 million people, and the geography of the project has expanded to 19 participating countries, including far abroad, according to the results of last year.
“Over the three years of the Olympiad, more than 1,300 people have become participants in the final stage, and almost 350 have won. The winners of the digital football tournament, which was held as part of the Olympic finals last year, will go to the multisport tournament “Games of the Future” in Kazan, all of them are invited to the ceremony on February 21. These are students from Algeria, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Some of them will also go to the World Youth Festival, which will be held in Sirius from February 29 to March 7. The final of the fourth Olympiad will traditionally be held on the federal territory of Sirius in Sochi from September 30 to October 4, 2024. To date, about 30 countries have confirmed their participation,” Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
He added that the Olympiad on financial security is included in the list of first-level Olympiads for schoolchildren and students for the 2023/2024 academic year, which allows its winners and prize-winners to use a special right when applying to universities. The invitation stage of the Olympiad, where you can practice solving Olympiad tasks before the qualifying stage, will start on March 4 in 2024.
FinU has been one of the key organizers of the Financial Security Olympiad for three years. In 2023, 7 university students became the winners and prize-winners of the intellectual competition. They took part in the plenary session “Conversation on Equal Terms”, during which Russian President Vladimir Putin personally communicated with the finalists.
