The main directions of the FinU’s educational policy were identified by its experts during an off-site meeting of the Educational and Methodological Council held on February 8-9, 2024 at the Lesnoe Ozero Resort. During the meeting, faculty and University administration representatives discussed ways to ensure the quality of educational programs, motivate teachers, and increase student engagement.
The Rector of the FinU, Stanislav Prokofiev, stated that «the Russian higher education system is undergoing significant changes». Regarding the University’s achievements in education, Stanislav Prokofiev highlighted the successful implementation of a unique educational model. This model combines several qualifications in a diploma and involves active collaboration with international partners. Additionally, the University is developing innovative educational projects with leading universities in their respective subject areas.
Stanislav Prokofiev emphasized the importance of training a new generation of scientific elite and introducing innovative technologies and teaching methods into the educational process. It is important to maintain a clear and objective language, avoiding biased or emotional language, and using high-level, standard language with consistent technical terms.
The Rector of the FinU highlighted «the University’s mission to create knowledge, educate citizens and future leaders for the state, business and society, while strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values».
The meeting’s first day featured reports on key areas of educational program development, the modern teacher’s image, and student expectations. Experts from the FinU continued to discuss relevant issues and challenges facing the academic community in thematic sessions. The discussion participants focused on quality control and improvement of educational programs, corporate culture development, best practices, and modern forms of organization for classroom and independent student work.
On the second day, thematic expert groups presented their initiatives. Specific proposals aimed at improving the higher education system and training highly qualified specialists for the country’s economy were formed as a result of the two-day work.
