FinU Students Celebrate Tatiana Day at Skating Rink

On January 25, 2024, students of the FinU visited the skating rink in Krasnaya Presnya Park. The festive event dedicated to the Students Day at the skating rink is traditionally one of the most striking university projects, which is attended annually by many students and teachers.

Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, congratulated the students on the holiday. “Dear guys, I sincerely want to congratulate you on Students Day. Being a student is a time of first victories, search and self-expression in science, entrepreneurship, creativity and sports, it lays the foundation for your future. You have everything ahead of you. I wish you good health, strength for new achievements, happiness, well-being and good mood. I am sure that in many years you will warmly remember the years spent at the University,” the Rector addressed the students.

Alexey Moiseev, Deputy Finance Minister of Russia, became the guest of honor of the holiday. In his welcoming speech, he stressed that students are having a bright and unique time of discoveries and bold ideas, and also congratulated the guys at the end of the session.

FinU has been celebrating the main student holiday on ice for several years. Traditionally, children participate in various contests, games and master classes. This year, the University students took part in a workshop from the figure skating star, Olympic champion Mark Kondratyuk. According to the new tradition of celebrating Students Day at the FinU, the Rector also prepared a surprise for students and guests: he treated them to non-alcoholic mulled wine prepared according to his own recipe.

Students and faculty took part in skating workshops, contests and interactive events organized by the Extracurricular Activities Department and the University Student Council.  Figure skaters and the hockey club of the FinU also performed for the guests.
