FinU Students Takes Part in Career Day at Russia EXPO

On January 16, 2024, the days of the Russian economy started at the Russia EXPO. The industry marathon opened the Finance Day, as part of the educational program of which a Career Day in the financial sector was held, organized by the Ministry of Finance of Russia and the Bank of Russia, as well as relevant departments.

Experts from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and its subordinate organizations – the Treasury of Russia, the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the Federal Customs Service of Russia, as well as the Bank of Russia in an interactive format told the guests about career opportunities and features of professional implementation in the field of public finance. The event program included not only speeches by speakers in the format of an open dialogue, but also various master classes, quizzes, and business games.

The Career Day started with a presentation by the Ministry of Finance of Russia, one of the key employers in the public financial sector. FinU students and its colleges attended various lectures and master classes from industry experts, where they learned about the requirements for young professionals, the rules for admission to the civil service, internship conditions and open vacancies, the specifics of work and prospects in the field of public finance.

As part of the Career Day, FinU employees, Director of the Directorate of Employment, Career Development and Work with Alumni Irina Okhtova, Head of the Department of Employment and Career Development Tatyana Galkina and Deputy Head of the Department of Employment and Career Development Svetlana Epishina held a workshop on the topic “How to build a successful career in finance.”

The participants of the workshop had the opportunity to learn:

·         Trends: how has the labor market changed?

·         5 rules of career design.

·         What professions are developing in the economic sphere. 

·         Core skills of the future: what competencies are important for a future financier to develop.

Also, the FinU team took part in the financial and business game “Time for Money” from the PSB Bank and the PSB Academy. During the game, students made various financial decisions, going from financial chaos to discipline, and learned the basic techniques of saving and accumulating money.

At the end of the Career Day, FinU students took part in watching films about the history of finance and the Treasury of Russia.
