On December 20, 2023, the IX Annual Scientific and Practical conference “Krasavin Readings” was held at the FinU, and it was dedicated to the challenges and prospects of the global financial system development. 

One of the key discussion topics was the role of the FinU scientific school in the development of international financial and economic relations. Experts discussed the methodology of teaching specialized disciplines, the formation of research directions, as well as strengthening the research potential of undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates.

Honorary President of the FinU, Alla Georgievna Gryaznova opened the conference, thanking the organizers and participants of the scientific discussion and emphasizing its importance. Alla Georgievna spoke about Lydia Nikolaevna Krasavina’s creative contribution to the FinU scientific school, about her role in the development of education and postgraduate studies, the formation of educational and methodological support and of international activities’ development.

Lydia Nikolaevna’s address to the participants of the meeting was read by the discussion moderator, Professor of the Department of World Economy and World Finance Elizaveta Sergeevna Sokolova, noting that L.N. Krasavina in her greeting continues to think scientifically and points out the ways of development of the scientific school. Thus, Lidiya Nikolaevna emphasized the relevance of the conference’s issues and emphasized the importance of system analysis during the economic system’s transformation, and wished all participants successful development of new tools and methods.

The honorary guest of the conference’s plenary session was Wang Yangmin, Chairman of the Union of Investment and Trade with Russia and Central Asian Countries of the Belt and Road Institute of Shenzhen University. In his speech, he spoke about the specifics and prospects for the development of international economic relations between China and the Russian Federation.

The agenda of the plenary session included transformation of forms of money and their role in international settlements, prospects for the formation of a single supranational currency of the BRICS countries. The experts also outlined the prospects for the development of the strategic partnership of the Russian Federation in the foreign economic activity.

As part of the plenary session, a presentation of the textbook “World Monetary and Financial System" by Professor Alexey Vladimirovich Kuznetsov of the FinU took place. In his speech, he noted the role of the publication in the development of the world finance school, founded by Lidia Nikolaevna Krasavina.

Pavel Sergeevich Seleznev, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the FinU, made a presentation of the book “Indian Attraction. Business in a Country of Opportunities and Contrasts”, co-authored with Deputy Trade Representative in the Republic of India Evgeny Griva. The expert spoke about the national specifics of business in India.

The conference was continued by four thematic sections devoted to the transformation of international financial and economic relations, cryptocurrency as a monetary phenomenon, mechanisms and tools of innovation in the global economy and global finance, and deglobalization in modern geopolitical conditions. The conference program included more than 180 reports on financial topics. Following the results of the scientific discussion, priority directions for the development of the FinU scientific school of World Economics and World Finance were identified and a corresponding resolution was signed.
