At the FinU, as part of the presentation of VTB internship programs, a meeting was held with the bank’s top managers Maxim Kondratenko and Gleb Ermakov. In the format of a live dialogue with students, the experts talked about career opportunities and prospects for professional realization at VTB. The meeting was organized by the Department of Employment and Career Development of the Directorate of Employment, Career Development and Work with Alumni of the FinU.

Opening the meeting, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, noted that the University pays great attention to the development of cooperation with leading players in the banking market.  VTB Bank, one of the strategic partners of the FinU, is actively involved in the implementation of educational, scientific, and socially significant projects of the University.

In September 2022, the basic department of VTB Bank: Modern Practice and Technologies of Banking Business was opened at the FinU Faculty of Finance, which allows students to learn more about the principles and methods of working with big data, automation of banking processes and other relevant financial technologies.

“Cooperation with VTB Bank is close to us in spirit. It is a huge systemic bank that implements many important government projects. It is very important that the bank takes care of the influx of talented young people.  It was with the partnership program with VTB that the project of paid internships for students began. This is the largest and most serious project, in which more than 60 of our students are already taking part. This helps them to get involved in the work of a large credit institution, and the bank’s experts to assess the readiness of young specialists to work in a team. I am sure that our meeting today will help our students prepare for the next selection for the internship program, which will take place in February,” said Stanislav Prokofiev.

Maxim Kondratenko, a member of the Board of VTB Bank, Head of the Basic Department of the bank at the FinU, addressed the students with a welcoming speech, noting that cooperation between the FinU and the bank is complex.

“The banking sector remains the most dynamic of the financial sector, which provides ample opportunities for implementation. The partnership between the FinU and VTB combines a high level of theoretical training with practical application and expertise of the bank’s employees. Together we solve very large tasks, and to prove ourselves in this field is a definite challenge for future professionals,” Maxim Kodratenko added.

The meeting program was continued by a speech by Senior Vice President of VTB Bank Gleb Ermakov, dedicated to the key areas of the financial group’s activities, the bank’s corporate culture and its core values - trust in the client, teamwork, proactive attitude in solving problems and openness to change.  Separately, Gleb Ermakov noted that the bank is actively developing the employer’s brand and offers unique development opportunities to interns, entry-level and middle-level specialists and managers.

Elena Shchepeleva, Head of the Recruitment and Development Department of the VTB HR Department, told the meeting participants about the bank’s internship line.  The expert stressed that the career project participants have access to several types of internships and IT programs for undergraduate, graduate students and alumni both in the parent organization and in the bank’s network. The program participants, under the guidance of mentors, work on real business projects, participate in training and workshops, and after completing the internship they can continue working at VTB, more than 70% of the bank’s interns studying at the FinU received a job offer based on the internship results.

FinU students also took part in an interactive quiz on the specifics of internship programs and talked with current participants of the bank’s internship program. Over 100 FinU students took part in the event.
