On November 23, 2023, an online meeting was held between Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, and Professor Muhammad Yunus, a world-famous economist, public figure, winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, together with Grameen Bank, founder and chairman of the Board of the Yunus Center, an international hub of social business, a pioneer in the field of microfinance and microcredit.

Professor Yunus expressed his agreement to head the International Advisory Council and expressed his support for the ambitious plans of the FinU in promoting science and education to the international level.

The FinU International Advisory Council is an advisory collegial body created to attract the best international experience and competencies, provide in-depth expert analysis and prepare proposals on key issues of strategic development, scientific, innovative and educational activities of the university. 10 candidates have been selected to participate in the Council. Among them are prominent public and political figures, representatives of the world academic community from 8 countries: China, India, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kenya and the UAE.

Kirill Babayev, Professor, Doctor of Philology, Director of the Center for International Scientific and Educational Projects of the FinU, Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was appointed Secretary of the Council.

During the meeting, the issue of cooperation between the FinU and the Yunus Center was also discussed. The FinU administration expressed its support for the ideas of social responsibility of business as a guarantee of sustainable and long-term society development.
