The program of International Economic Law was designed to meet the growing demand for lawyers from export-oriented and transnational companies, government agencies and international structures. Graduates of this profile have fundamental and applied knowledge, practical competences in the field of national legislation, international law, and legal regulation of regional and international economic relations.
An important area of training is the study of the law of international intergovernmental organisations (the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organisation, and etc.), which these days play an essential role in regulating the international economic system. Within the framework of the program students conduct research work, the main directions of which include: international cooperation in combating economic crimes, international standards of financial regulation, the law of the WTO, the legal regulation of investment, trade disputes, and etc.
The program is aimed at training personnel so that they could obtain all the necessary competencies and qualifications in the field of international legal regulation of economic and financial relations. During the process of training special attention is paid to developing skills of independent analysis of various international legal acts, which regulate international financial and economic relations. Students consider phenomena of the international life on the basis of the principles and norms of international law, so that eventually they will be able to assess objectively the possibilities and ways of applying recommendations of international economic organisations in the Russian Federation.
