The educational program "Financial Economics and Monetary Regulation" is a new generation program. It was developed on the basis of the federal state educational standard of higher education in the field of training 38.04.08 "Finance and Credit", as well as on the basis of professional standards approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation. 

The main types of professional activity are: analytical, project-economic, organisational, management, consulting, and research. 

This educational program provides training of specialists in finance and credit, researchers, and analysts of the modern financial sector, who possess strong analytical and research qualities and skills, which allow them to solve problems in the modern economy. 

The program focuses not only on the developing knowledge in economics and management, but also in modern monetary and financial relations. The program has professional-public accreditation of the Council for Professional Qualifications of the Financial Market.


Main disciplines

  • Modern Financial Economics Structure

    This discipline focuses on the financial economy and its role in developing the national economy, the laws of financial flows (money, securities, etc.), and the relationship of the subjects of the economic system.

  • Macroeconomic Regulation of the Banking Sector

    Macroeconomic regulation of the banking sector. Information environment and information provision of macroeconomic regulation of the banking sector. Bank of Russia as a regulatory body for the banking sector.

  • Systemic Risk Multipliers in the Financial Sector

    Theoretical and economic content and concept of systemic risks. Methods of identification, minimisation, and regulation of systemic risks in the financial and credit sphere. Improvement of regulating systemic risks in the monetary sphere of Russia.

  • Topical Issues in National Payment System Development

    The role of the national payment system in the development of the financial sector of the economy. Innovation and modernisation of payment and other financial systems. International experience of payment systems integration and its use in Russia.

  • Financial Technologies (FinTech)

    Concept and key segments of the FinTech ecosystem. Electronic money and payments. FinTech infrastructure and technologies. Trading platforms and markets. Prospects and limitations of FinTech development in Russia and abroad.

  • Development of the Lending Institution Supervision System in Russia

    Supervisory bodies with financially unstable and insolvent financial and credit institutions. Objects of supervision.
