Open Doors Day: A Day in the Life at the Financial University
November 16, 2025, marked the Financial University’s Open Day — one of the most significant and largest events for prospective students, their families, and the entire university community.
Applicants and their parents experienced a virtual day at the university through interactive activities, immersing themselves in the campus atmosphere, learning about faculties, educational programs, and projects in pre-university training and professional development.
The event was officially opened in the Nobel Hall by Rector Stanislav Prokofiev: “Today, we will take a virtual journey through the Financial University, visit classrooms, see how our students live and learn, and showcase the unique opportunities offered by Russia’s leading economic university.”
The university has created a unique innovative educational and scientific ecosystem, featuring branded learning spaces developed in partnership with key industry leaders such as PSB Bank, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, and the Moscow Exchange. For example, in PSB Bank’s new educational space, students work with 3D printers and scanners to create innovative products, while the MOEX LAB digital trading platform provides hands-on experience in the entire investment process. To prepare specialists deeply familiar with industry specifics and employer needs, the university has established core departments in leading market companies, government agencies, and major banks, including the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, the Accounts Chamber, and the Federal Tax Service.
Ambitious students can participate in a groundbreaking educational model that combines two qualifications in one diploma. In 2026, Moscow will offer 29 such double degree programs.
“Specialists with a single focus are already a thing of the past — or at best, the present. Through collaboration with top Russian universities, leaders in their fields, we give our students the opportunity to earn two diplomas in the standard timeframe, studying at two of the country’s best universities,” said the Rector.
With a history spanning over a century, the Financial University has long been trusted by leading employers. Thanks to close cooperation with market leaders and unique internship programs, graduates build successful careers in major banks and top companies across various industries. Starting from their third year, students can undertake internships at leading firms, including paid programs.
The university places special emphasis on training highly qualified scientific personnel and fostering a new generation of Russian researchers. Each year, over 100 research projects involve students, and new products and technologies for business are actively developed and implemented with student participation.
Many student continuing education programs are offered free of charge in partnership with leading organizations such as Sberbank, VTB, and other banks.
