On May 12, the Museum of Finance held a literary and musical evening "I Came Back …" dedicated to the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War fought by the USSR against Nazi Germany and its allies.

The participants listened to songs and poems of military years performed by the employees of the Museum of Finance (Director of the Museum of Finance N. Chirkova and head curator of exhibitions A. Krulov) and the University Library and Information Complex (Deputy Director of the Library and Information Complex G. Tarunina and Head of the Library and Information Complex Sector N. Litvinova), as well as to memories of FinU faculty members — veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

All those who joined the event enjoyed the performance a lot. It should be noted that foreign students who regularly participate in the Russian language course "Potalkuem" were especially active. Foreign students from such countries as Turkey, China, Equatorial Guinea and Madagascar learned more about the poems of Russian poets, admired the footage selection of military chronicles and took great interest in the memories of the front-line life.

The Museum expresses gratitude to Head of the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communication K. Simonov for providing support and an authentic flag from his personal collection. The flag covered the table where the so-called "triangles" with fragments of memories of veterans — FinU faculty staff — were placed.

We would like to thank all the participants for joining the event. Any event presupposes a dialogue, even if one side is only a listener, and the quality of the dialogue depends to a larger extent on the audience. There happened a dialogue of cultures, generations, the present day man, and time.
