Dialog of cultures: Azerbaijan and Russia

On December 5, 2019, a large and fascinating event "Dialog of Cultures: Azerbaijan and Russia" was held at the Financial University. This event was organised by the International Office for Foreign Students and Scholars.

Over 120 talented students from Azerbaijan study at the Financial University, most of them are successful in their studies, they participate in scientific activities and also make a significant contribution to the social and cultural life of the university.

The aim of the event is to get acquainted with culture, traditions, and cuisine of Azerbaijan and continue dialog of two countries.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech on behalf of Financial University and personally Rector M. Eskindarov by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Alexander Linnikov, who expressed deep gratitude to the entire international service for organising such a wonderful evening.

I am very excited to open this evening, because I am connected with Azerbaijan myself - starting with my childhood’s memories of the flourishing Baku of the 80s, many years of work with Azerbaijani colleagues and business partners, and, finally, finishing, most importantly, with a friendship and warm attitude with our Azerbaijani friends.

The guests of the evening were also welcomed by the Head of the International Office for Foreign Students and Scholars Anatoly Kislyakov and Dean of the Faculty of Law Viktor Baranov.

"This is a new tradition at our university, and I am very glad to see that. I am sure that we will be able to understand the differences and the similarities between the two countries. I wish everyone to fall in love with Azerbaijan and continue to carry this love all life", says Anatoly Kislyakov.

Students prepared a concert, where they showed their skills in dancing, singing songs, and reading poems.

Mehriban Sadygova, President of the Federal National and Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in Russia, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Community of Moscow Shamil Tagiyev, and Assistant Professor Manaf Agayev, PhD, delivered welcoming speeches.
