FinU Develops Cooperation with Baku Higher Oil School

On January 27, 2021, an online meeting on developing cooperation with the Baku Higher School of Oil (Baku, Azerbaijan) was held at the Financial University. The meeting was moderated by First Vice-President of Gazprombank Igor Turuyev.

Baku Higher Oil School is a recognised leader in training national engineering staff. Modern programs and advanced technologies are used in training highly qualified English-speaking specialists. 

On behalf of the Financial University, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Alexander Linnikov welcomed the participants. During his welcoming speech, the Vice-Rector thanked the representatives of the Baku Higher Oil School for their interest and active cooperation. He also elaborated on international activities carried out by the Financial University. 

Despite the current conditions, Financial University is actively developing partnerships with educational organisations around the world. More than 30 double-degree programs are offered at our flagship faculties, which are actively engaged in developing international relations. Besides, Financial University is 1 of 5 higher educational institutions which are directly managed by the RF government. It undoubtedly reflects the exclusive status of the university as well as a myriad of new opportunities offered here

On behalf of the Baku Higher Oil School, Rector Elmar Gasimov and Dean of the Faculty for Continuing Education, Associate Professor Kyaklik Gezalov joined the meeting, actively participated in the negotiations showing great interest in long-term cooperation with the Financial University.

During the online meeting, participants also discussed MBA programs. Svetlana Yushkova, Director of the FinU Business School, commented on the possibility of doing an MBA simultaneously with a bachelor’s/master’s degree.

Particular interest in cooperating with the Baku Higher Oil School was expressed by the Faculty of Economics and Business represented by Dean of the Faculty Ekaterina Bezsmertnaya and Deputy Dean for International Cooperation Khvicha Kharchilava. 

First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Ivan Petrov elaborated on the program "Strategic Management", and also proposed an incentive to develop joint bachelor’s and master’s programs under the 2+2 system.

"It would also be great to start our cooperation with giving online presentations about the universities to our students", suggested Ivan Petrov.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted the importance of study abroad programs as well as the "Visiting Professor" program and agreed upon organising online presentations.
