During the lecture the students learned about linguistic diversity of Russia, interesting facts about the history and peculiarities of the Russian language. In addition, they found out more about ethnic minorities living in Russia.
What is more, the students got to know the history of the Russian and Old Cyrillic alphabets, and were told about such well-known historic figures as Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lomonosov, and Yuri Gagarin.
During the online lecture, a lively discussion took place, during which the students from the Pre-University Training Faculty shared how and why they started to learn Russian. Also the students discussed the role of the language they are currently learning in the world of culture and science.
