The Organising Committee of the EU-Russia Student Conference “Breaking Down Barriers” invites you to participate in the online conference on October 17, 2020!

The conference "Breaking Down Barriers" is an annual platform for interaction between talented young people from Russia and the EU with representatives of business and government.

On the agenda:
– Panel session “Digitisation in Russia and the EU as a factor of interaction”;
– Expert round tables on Edtech, Construction and Real estate, Fintech, Law, and IT;
– Presentation of the students' work in two cases: from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and from VTB Bank.

The conference will be attended by speakers from Russia and the EU, representatives and experts of large companies working in the Russian and European markets.

Among the participants:
Christian Kern – former Chancellor of Austria and Chairman of the Community of European Railway, member of the Board of Directors of Russian Railways;
Alexander Rar – German journalist and political scientist, scientific director of the German-Russian Forum, member of the Board of the Council of Russian Economics in Germany, Gazprom’s adviser on European issues;
Karsten Richter – head of Strabag in Russia.


You can participate as a:

1. Listener;

It can be anyone interested in the subject matter of the conference, regardless of age and language. The event will be held in English and Russian (with simultaneous interpreting).

2. Case participant; 

Participation is possible for current students (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or postgraduate) and recent alumni (not more than 3 years from graduation).


This year’s cases focus on law and economics:

– Case from the Expert Council under the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Purpose:

You will be invited to assess development prospects and investment attractiveness of the territories with a special business regime in the Russian Federation. As part of the analysis, you will study foreign practices as well as recent and proposed amendments to the laws governing these territories.

– Case from VTB Bank

Purpose:

You will be invited to consult a large bank on developing a strategy for its non-bank services, particularly the ecosystem of housing.

Participants and winners of the case-parts will get special prizes from the conference partners and organisers, as well as will be given an opportunity to attend closed meetings with speakers.
