FinU Team is the First to Win Roscongress Cyber Cup Tournament

August 1 and 2, CS:GO Roscongress Cyber Cup Tournament was organised within the framework of Science Fest, an international festival of science and innovations, which was organised in the format of online knowledge marathon.

The organisers were the Roscongressional Foundation, Cyber Legacy (CL), Territory of Innovation and Business Priority projects as well as the sports platform of the Roscongressional Foundation — RK-Sport.

The tournament games were broadcast on the specialised streaming platform Twitch and on the YouTube channel "Innovators 2020" attracting over 2,000 viewers.

It is a unique experience for the Roscongressional Foundation to organise  a full-fledged cybersport tournament using its resources and electronic platforms. We have done it for the first time! Interest in this type of competition left the Internet long ago. We see that cybersport has developed into a distinct global industry with strong financial fundamentals in recent years, bringing together millions of players. Roscongress Cyber Cup was a pilot event in a series of corporate games organised by the Foundation, and I am confident that in the near future we will be able to bring together representatives of more companies and corporations

Chairman of the board, Director of the Roscongressional Foundation Alexander Stuglev

During the first day of the tournament, the group stage games were played. Teams represented by Lamoda Company, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and Bank VTB were competing in group A. Group B was joined by the Congress Security Team (Congress-Security Company), Skyteam (Skyeng Company), Freedom Team (Investment Company Freedom International Group) and VTBoys (VTB bank).

The second day of the tournament began with semi-finals, which were joined by the representatives of the Financial University, Skyeng, Congress-Security and Lamoda. The teams of the Financial University and Congress-Security made their way to the final after the intense game, demonstrating the best tactics, strategy and cohesion on the virtual battlefield.

The final consisted of two rounds. The battle was won by a young team which included students from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, whose average age is only 20 years. Thus, they became the first to ever win the Roscongress Cyber Cup.

The best moments of the games are available online on the Roscongressional Foundation resources: Youtube Channel "Roscongress-TV", Facebook page, the Youtube Channel "Innovators 2020" and on the website of the tournament.
