This national holiday, dedicated to the youths in Russia, is celebrated annually June 27th. This holiday has been celebrated for the past 62 years. 

The decree “On the establishment of Soviet Youth Day” was signed by the Supreme Presidium of the USSR on February 7, 1958. 

Throughout the whole Union there were meetings, gatherings and congresses of activists. There were competitions of youth brigades in factories, sports festivals and competitions.

Recently much attention has been paid to communities. Charitable fairs and festivals are often held to help orphanages or hospitals. Various events in cinemas, theatres and museums, master classes are also held on this day. And, of course, discos with fireworks are held at the end of the day in almost all cities of our country.
