April 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an extension of the non-working period due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in Russia.
The non-working period was extended until April 30, but it was stressed that the mandate of self-isolation can be lifted with a favorable epidemiological situation. Non-working days will be fully paid.
In his speech, the President also underlined that the regional authorities will introduce restrictive measures including suspension of business activities and limited movement of people and transport. Interregional transport will be the only exception.
Hospitals, pharmacies, banks and food stores will continue their work without any intermission.
Officials and mass media should themselves determine the number of employees working from the office.
In addition, Vladimir Putin noted that the peak of the pandemic has not passed neither in the world nor in Russia, and called for respecting all security measures.
