On November 10, 2022, negotiations were held between representatives of the FinU Faculty of Economics and the School of Tourism and Hotel Business of the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) on the development of a joint master’s degree program in Tourism.

 

The meeting was moderated by Alexey Sereda, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, who introduced Chinese colleagues to the FinU and noted the close partnership between our University and universities from China.

 

Deputy Dean for International Cooperation Khvicha Kharchilava presented the Faculty of Economics and Business of the FinU, focusing on the educational internationalization. In particular, it was noted that foreign students from 30 countries, including China and other Southeast Asian countries, study at the faculty.​

Tatiana Rozanova, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Business of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the FinU, expressed interest in developing a joint educational program in Tourism with the School of Tourism and Hotel Business of the Dongbei University of Economics and Finance. Such a program will combine the strengths of the participating universities and prepare unique specialists with broad skills and in demand both in Russia and in China.

 

Konstantin Levchenko, Head of the master’s program “FinTech in Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, senior lecturer of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Business, noted the practice-oriented nature of the program: thanks to a wide network of partners of the Department and the Faculty, students will be able to practice with the possibility of further employment in leading companies in the industry and relevant public authorities.

For their part, the representatives of the DUFE expressed their readiness to develop relations between universities and develop a joint double-degree program in Tourism.

 

As a result of the meeting, definite steps were outlined to develop cooperation between our universities: in particular, an agreement was reached on the participation of the faculty in international academic mobility programs using online learning technologies. In addition, the parties agreed to start studying each other’s curricula, which will be the first stage of developing a new joint educational program.
