On September 15, 2022, the opening ceremony of the VTB basic Department – “Modern Practice and Technologies of Banking Business” took place at the FinU. The joint project was implemented within the framework of the strategic partnership agreement between the FinU and VTB in June 2022.
The participants and guests of the event were welcomed by Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector.
“The opening of the VTB basic Department “Modern Practice and Technologies of Banking Business” is another important step towards improving the level and quality of training for the Russian banking sector of highly qualified personnel capable of using innovative banking technologies to work effectively in the real economy and meet the challenges of the time. I am convinced that our joint work will help to achieve a synergetic effect and will become a driver for the implementation of new large-scale projects aimed at the socio-economic development of our country,” stressed the Rector.
Andrey Kostin, President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank, greeted the ceremony participants with a welcoming speech, where he noted that VTB Bank has been successfully working with young people for a long time.
“We have a number of programs across the country that are focused on alumni of the financial, economic and IT profile. The creation of a basic department is a unique opportunity for the bank to build direct interaction with talented students of one of Russia’s leading universities at the training stage, and for students to adopt our practical experience, which will be useful to them at the start of their career. We are confident that the acquired skills will help FinU students become in demand professionals in their field, develop and move forward the country’s economy," said Andrey Kostin.
During the meeting, Andrey Kostin also shared the trends in the transformation of the modern banking system and the economy as a whole, emphasizing the importance of science, since it is the expert community in cooperation with representatives of the banking sector that develops new approaches and financial organizations’ principles.
The VTB Basic Department was created to improve the efficiency of future specialists’ practical training in the banking sector. The classes will cover a wide range of topics in the field of risk management, working with big data, automation of banking processes and other relevant financial technologies.
As part of the partnership with the bank, a VTB branded auditorium has been equipped and equipped with the latest technologies in the FinU, where courses, workshops, round tables and other events will be held with the participation of VTB specialists.
The ceremony was also attended by Maxim Kondratenko, a member of the VTB Board, who headed the basic Department. In his speech, he noted that the FinU is traditionally a forge of personnel for the bank and expressed confidence that the launch of a joint project will strengthen and expand cooperation in the future. The Department activities will be aimed at improving the practical effectiveness of training specialists in the banking sector and will allow students to be at the center of events in the banking market.
