The participants of the intellectual ideas’ hackathon presented to the expert jury seven projects within the framework of the MFF-2022 youth program at the FinU.

On September 7, 2022, during the student conference “Public Finance and Financial Markets: Challenges of the Present and a Model of the Future”, a presentation of student projects dedicated to the effectiveness of public finance and federal property management took place at the FinU. The event is timed to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and is held as part of the youth program of the VI Moscow Financial Forum.

During the day, seven thematic teams of participants worked on proposals for thematic tracks synchronized with the MFF-2022 program – sustainability of the Russian economy, adaptation of the tax system to modern challenges, efficiency of budget expenditures, inter-budgetary relations, financial market and investments, digital transformations of public finances and federal property management.

The teams, under the guidance of mentors, developed ideas within their sections and presented them to an expert jury, which included Mikhail Kotyukov, Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, and Elena Makarenko, RSUE Rector, Ksenia Ekimova, Vice-Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Dmitry Butashin, Vice-Rector of RANEPA, Vladimir Nazarov, FRI Director, Dmitry Zaitsev, Auditor of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Alexey Korabelnikov, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg and Mikhail Alekseev, Deputy Head of the Board of Trustees of the FinU.

The representatives of the expert jury evaluated the teams’ proposals and gave recommendations for the further development of ideas. During the presentation, an active and lively dialogue of participants and experts took place. The experts emphasized the coherence of the team work and the variety of proposals.

The final stage of the student projects’ presentation will be held at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. The conference participants will present their ideas and developments to the Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov.
