A new academic year has started at the FinU. Celebrations for first-year students began on August 31, 2022.

On the eve of the Knowledge Day, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, congratulated the first-year students of the Higher School of Management, which is one of the most popular faculties.

 “I congratulate you on the beginning of student life! You have become students of the flagship faculty of the FinU, which trains highly qualified specialists-managers. You have chosen the profession of a manager, which involves decision-making based on knowledge and modern skills. The set of skills is a guarantee that the manager have relevant skills. I am sure that the knowledge you will receive will be useful to you in your future career. I wish you wonderful years at our University,” Rector told the first-year students.

Stanislav Prokofiev emphasized that the FinU is the largest Russian university that trains specialists in economics and management, and its alumni in different years have been representatives of the country’s managerial elite.

Arkady Trachuk, Dean of the Faculty of Higher School of Management also addressed the students with a welcoming speech, wished them success in implementing all their plans, and also spoke in detail about the faculty life and introduced the first-year students to representatives of the dean’s office and faculty.

On the same day, Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, congratulated the first-year students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis.

“Your faculty plays an important roles in training specialists in the new digital economy, as knowledge and skills in IT are becoming increasingly important. You have passed a serious competition, and I hope you will carry with dignity the high title of a FinU student, and after graduation you will replenish the gallery of our outstanding alumni. I would like you to join the faculty life from the very first day, use all the opportunities for self-development. Have time to know more so that studying at the University is as fruitful as possible,” said Rector .

Stanislav Prokofiev stressed that today the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis is the university largest faculty with more than 3 thousand students.  The FinU Administration creates the necessary conditions for students: a modern robotics laboratory works at the faculty, computer vision and artificial intelligence laboratories will soon be opened so that the students could work with advanced IT technologies, implement their own projects in digital economy and information security.

Grigory Ostapenko, Vice-Rector for Digitalization of the FinU addressed the students with a welcoming speech. “Today you are in an environment where you will form friendly and professional ties, create the foundation of your career,” said Vice-Rector.

Alexey Anosov, Dean of the profile faculty joined the congratulations. In his speech, he noted that it is the students who help the faculty to work as a full-fledged IT company and create in-demand solutions and products.  Alexey Anosov also introduced the first-year students to the faculty administration, told about the main educational programs, opportunities for the implementation of scientific, social and creative ideas.

Mikhail Eskindarov, President of the University and Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice-Rector for Marketing and Work with Applicants addressed the first-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Business with welcoming words. Ekaterina Bezsmertnaya, Dean of the faculty congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of a new life stage, told them about the faculty life, introduced them to representatives of the dean’s office and faculty, who warmly and cordially congratulated the new students on admission, wished them success in implementing all their plans.

On the Knowledge Day, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU congratulated the first-year students of the College of Computer Science and Programming. In his welcoming speech, he noted the importance of promoting the digital agenda in education and stressed the importance of a developed network of colleges. Stanislav Prokofiev especially noted the importance of the interaction system between the college and the University, so that college students could use the flagship laboratories of the profile faculty within the framework of integration. 

“I believe that it is in your college that students receive the most relevant and necessary specialties for the modern labor market. You dedicate your life to the digital economy, information protection and many other skills in demand today.  I want to wish you new creative achievements in all spheres of life,” said Rector.

Murat Hapsirokov, senator of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy became the guest of honor at the event. In his speech, he stressed the importance and relevance of obtaining knowledge in IT and wished the first-year students success and good luck in all their endeavors.

The event also included a ceremony of awarding volunteer books to college students and awarding the winners and prize-winners of the “Best Student of the Year” competition.

On the first of September, representatives of the FinU administration addressed the first-year students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications, the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis, and the Faculty of Law, wishing them success on the path to knowledge. The deans of the faculties introduced the students to the faculty, told them about the FinU structure and work specifics, and also introduced activist coordinators who will help the children adapt to the new environment.

We sincerely congratulate the first-year students, new members of the FinU family and wish them new achievements, bright discoveries and victories, so that the student years become one of the happiest!
